Mayor and Borough Council

Hopewell Borough operates under the Borough form of government and has done so since 1891. The major components to this system of government are the Mayor/Council and a Borough Administrator. The Borough Council is the legislative body, establishing town policies, while the Borough Administrator is designated to carry out the directives of the Mayor and Council. Our Borough Council consists six at large Council members who serve 3 year terms. The Mayor is separately elected and serves a 4 year term.  The Borough Council generally meets on the first Thursday of every month at 7:00pm. 

In Person Meeting Changes

Starting with the April 7, 2022 meeting, the Borough Council will resume meeting in person on the first Thursday of the month at 88 East Broad Street.

The Hopewell Borough Council generally meets on the first Thursday of each month. Meetings are open to the public.  Information on how to attend meetings via the online zoom platform and agendas will be posted here prior to the meetings when available, generally two days prior to the meeting time.

Looking for the Borough’s codified ordinances?  The town code is now online and can be at the eCode360 website.

Zoom Hybrid Meeting Test Info

The Hopewell Borough Council is continuing to test hybrid options for its meetings through 2022 and into 2023.   Using the link below, the public may view the live regular council meetings via zoom.   Interactive participation is not available at this time but interested parties can view the meeting while we test equipment options. The Borough Council meets each first Thursday of the month, at 7pm.   Anyone interested in participating should attend in person at Borough Hall.  We look forward to viewer feedback on the feed so please call us at Borough Hall (609-466-2636) and let us know what you think!
